Bruno's Back

Sacha Baron Cohen, seen above crashing the runway of an Agatha Ruiz de la Prada show as his popular character Bruno, is back with the feature length film, Bruno. It is reported that he crashed the runway of an ICEBERG show as well while filming the movie.

Bruno is a character who first appeared during short sketches on The Paramount Comedy Channel in 1998 before reappearing on Da Ali G Show. Following the success of Borat, Universal Studios acquired the rights to make a Bruno film.

Although Bruno can be a bit political, it's the fashion aspect of this character which draws me to him. Bruno focuses on interviewing those from the fashion and entertainment industries. He generates humour through three devices: interviewees making outrageous statements; revealing an interviewee's apparent ignorance; and having an interviewee take an opposite position on a subject.

The White Picket Fences

In Divorce American Style , these folks had a perfect house, 2 perfect kids an (exceptionally) perfect wardrobe... and they wanted a divorce. Dick Van Dyke is always is a pleasure to watch. His style, his mannerisms, his humor...everything about this dude, almost made me wanna be a better man (when I was younger obviously). Oddly enough I loved this flick. (Geee...I wonder why?)

Only In My Element

Because The Fifth Element was my favorite movie that influenced my style (and life), and brought such a light to the way i saw fashion. I WANT TO GET INTO SOMETHING furturistic for f/w 2009. Whether it be accessories or just a blazer by Gareth Pugh... I want it! Stay tuned (lol)

Locked Up

You would think that we would be extremely tired of Tyler Perry and his films, lol but WE'RE NOT! His next film "Madea Goes To Jail" opens nationwide February 20, 2009. In the next series of Tyler Perry films comes “Madea Goes To Jail”, which features Notorious’ Derek Luke and Keshia Knight Pulliam best known as “”Rudy from the Cosby Show". I'm not looking forward to the release...but I'll see it for the sake of laughter.

No Jokes

Theres no better Joker than Jack Nicholson. He was so damn cool and fun as a villan. I almost wanted to be him just cuz he got to dress kinda funky and make folks laugh till they died (lol it's terrible I know). And dont even let me tell you how much I adored the fact that he had an entourage of freaks. But what I think is cooler.. is the music.

Born a Star

One of my favorite clips from the film "Star" (with Julie Andrews) especially around 2:50 when she plays with the jumping bean boys. I'm still searching for the footage of the fashion show that takes place in the film.

Sweet Charity

Whatever happened to the days when films kept us stylishly entertained? Granted, we had "The Devil Wears Prada", "Sex & the City: The Movie", and such delights (lol), but honestly... someone needs to revive dancing spirit. I think I would've given anything to see this film when it was just released.
