The Bess Thing to Do

Sergio turned me on to the moccasin when he purchased a pair of YSL's last year. I think that these offerings from Bess are a perfect blend of casual and funk. Love em, need em... Nothing more to say.

Rubber Duckie, You're the One!

So I guess it's safe to say that Sergio and I have been on a serious shoe kick lately. Well why stop a good thing? These offerings from Florsheim by Duckie Brown are just what we need for the upcoming Spring and Summer.

My Little Pooooonyyyyy

My latest fix just arrived at my local dealer.... Pony Hair Supra Skytops.... ((squeals with glee)). Several Supras have dropped for the fall and are available at various boutiques and stores around the country and on the web, but these are probably my faves.

No Ponies were harmed in the making of this post... but anyone blocking my way to get these to the cash register may find themselves bewildered, wondering how they ended up tangled in a clothing rack.

Zaha Hadid for Lacoste

So... fresh off her teaming with shoe company, Melissa (which I blogged on back in May), Ms. Zaha Hadid is back at it with a new men's and women's footwear colabo with Lacoste or as I like to call them, Lacost-a-lot. You readers should know by now that I'm a big fan of Hadid, the world renown, Iraqi-born, London-based architect and designer. I don't know how this project got by my radar unnoticed but I happened into my new FAVORITE designer consignment store, INA Men in Nolita NYC and noticed the shoes up on the shelf. First off, I can't believe they are already in a consignment shop since they JUST came out. Secondly, they're cool!! (as to be expected). Sadly they were in a size 10.

The project began with a digitized version of the iconic crocodile logo. Hadid's research team then used this as a basis to explore a series of surfaces with repeated patterns. Hadid explains that the design expression behind the footwear allows the evolution of dynamic fluid grids. When wrapped around the shape of the foot, these expand and contract to negotiate and adapt to the body ergonomically. In doing so, a landscape emerges, undulating and radiating as it merges seamlessly with the body.

He Came Back Kicking...

... Kicking kicks that is. Kris Van Assche, the Belgium-born designer and Artistic Director for Dior Homme showed consistency this F/W '09 in his KRIS VAN ASSCHE label. After the mind blowing sneakers from his S/S '09 collection, who knew it could get better? What great follow-ups these are. I wouldn't mind having each style in each color.

Plastic Dreams

This S/S '09 brings another collaboration between Vivienne Westwood and Melissa. They're hot and they're non-toxic too. Yep... non-toxic!

Perfect Combinataion

The Iraqi born, London based architect/designer, Zaha Hadid, has teamed up with Melissa to bring the ladies some high tech design in footwear. Hadid is world renown for her high tech approach to architecture and design. She is probably better known to you fashionistas and LifeStylers as the designer of the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion, a traveling art space commissioned by Chanel head designer Karl Lagerfeld.
