Corn on the Cob

I've recently become a fan of Uniqlo and their way of interpreting
everyday wear for both sexes. I'd received their Spring/Summer 2009 ad
campaign and couldn't help seeing that fun clothes can be fun on
everyone. Even though the models make me want to adopt all the children
of the corn... I still think the clothing is completely cool for those
who aren't into whoring their labels.

Four Leaf Clovers!

Thanks to our friends over at Some Notes on Napkins, we were exposed to trendy new Australian brand, Illionaire, and man are we amped! Their Fall 2009 collection is one to be desired if  you manage to achieve the impossible by standing out in a crowded room. Of course, there's no doubt that with any one of these pieces you'd be the center of attention.

High on Silk

I've been a little bonkers over any brooch that I happen to lay my eyes on. This could possibly be a positive trait to possess, but since I know I can sometimes get out of hand with my spending, I'll just say that it's a moment in progress that I'm working through. Slow and Steady Wins the Race has won my heart once again with this clustered pearl brooch that would fit well with any blazer or cardigan in one's wardrobe. Though it seems to be a bit much and risky, don't be fooled. This accessory is idiot proof!

Lay Down

We found Petar Petrov last season accomplishing a cool yet affectionate image by exposing a softer palette in men's wear. Many may not have been able to call that particular look their own as it was called to be somewhat difficult. However this Fall, Petrov has continued to stay true to his work ethic and furnish us with shocking colors. Of course newer hues isn't the only trick that he can pull from his hat. He's kept his stapled classics, but provided trendy faded jean which is accompanied by technicolored dress shoes. As if that wasn't enough to send you running back to The Men's Warehouse... the grey lightweight nylon suits are perfect for any sort demanding statement.  If there's nothing else for me to gain from this collection in it's entirety... the shoes have stolen my heart!

Just Fine and Dandy

And at the risk of sounding like a commercial, they have prices you can't beat with a stick. They've got pocket squares, ties and bow ties, handkerchiefs, and the list goes on...

Hot off my posting of the Damir Doma necklaces a little while ago I received an email from oki-ni with some pretty cool new Damir Doma accessories. The first is a bracelet and the second is a button brooch. Why I've never heard of such a type of brooch... but it intrigues me.

Just Grand!

Last night, The Webster celebrated their grand opening for their new store on 12th and Collins Ave and anyone who's anyone with a credit card found themselves enjoying drinks soaked with Grey Goose and the most delicious chocolate truffles I've ever had.

The hotel turned luxury boutique has spent the last two years developing their new ambience to call home. Now that it's complete, we all can finally breathe comfortably since the new spot has three spacious floors with a French Cafe that specializes in flavored salmon. Naturally, while standing in a crowded room of what felt like thousands of people, I spotted my dream pair of "Dining Room" Slippers by Ralph Lauren and then a pair by Tom Ford. The feeling?... Heaven in a boutique!

I can't imagine what could've possibly inspired Lagerfeld to produce this statement clenching canvas tote. Maybe the questions of everyday life could be to blame, as it's hard for me to believe that someone actually uttered those words (lol). It's "little" things like these that make the bigger things seem less important.

Sun Showers By The Hour

It's clear that German women's wear brand, Pepper and Pistol have channeled the old fashion suburban wife with their S/S 2009 collection, Babylon. I may be a tad bit overwhelmed with the double turban as Prada introduced that to us in 2007, still I appreciate the fresher and more relatable image that is brought to the table. While defining their for detailed and feminine clothing, Katrin Wiens and Silvia Hillman, the force behind the brand, are looking to renew an aged image and flourish it into a seasonal essential. I'm now a believer.

I Made Fresh

I solely believe that if ladies choose to be an advocate of style to women's wear, they should portray the image from a 360 viewpoint. In other words, if you're unable to prance around in 7 inch heals all day long, try and resist he urge to just throw on and old pair of flats.... do it in style (especially your own).  These Alejandro Ingelmo flats are a perfect example of what should be worn if you're heels are touching the ground. The lean multiple straps have their way of giving the eye a little extra something to appreciate, so there should be no reason why one wouldn't like these.

Safety

I feel safe knowing that my Yves Saint Laurent pocket square with the safety pin print that I ordered from the online YSL boutique will be here in a couple days.  In March (with Mr. Sergio in tow) I purchased the YSL canvas tote with the safety pin print from The Webster on South Beach so I figured it couldn't hurt to own the pocket square too.

It's My Party...

I sat at my desk today with a handful of unopened mail, and to my surprise, I'd received a personal invite to a private unveiling of the new [and improved] The Webster tonight. On such short notice, we'll see what my nerves pull out of my closet. You''' know where to find the report.

Peace Out!

I decided to take a "personal-peace" day this weekend to gather some of my thoughts together that have been floating around as of late. Of course since we all need to take the time to step away from everything that we're involved in and conclude whether or not we're pleased with the work we've done. This particular day I picked up my notebook and made my way to the beach alone, with the plans of jotting down all I'd had in mind over the weeks. I found that my mind drew a complete blank and I couldn't seem to get the clutter out onto paper. It then dawned on  me that I couldn't find peace in the very place that was perceived as paradise by society. Which naturally surfaced by next point of realization. Where does one find agreement? In their homes? Their cars on the way to work? Their church? In the middle of nowhere with a beer? Although I didn't find the answer just then, I must say that it's one of those moment's when you search for what is right for your life. Join the movement!

Sunday, Monday... Happy Days

Summer time is here and there may be some out there who fashionably (and maybe physically) dread the season's arrival. Unfortunately, I am one of those people since there's not that much fun things to wear. Take me to the city where it snows and every 9 out of 10 people are wearing gloves and scarves... and I'm home! Though I'm not a "heat fan" brands like Uniqlo are making it a bit enticing for people like me. I caught this white lightweight jacket and these washed chino shorts and [pretty much] fell in love... which sucks because I'm a slave to layering, no matter the variation. More than the style and image of the brand... is the affordability that brought me in and that's gotta be a happy day for everyone.

It's been at least 3 seasons since skulls have taken over our tees and accessories and even though I'm dead tired of seeing them in every form, shape, and/or color I will admit that this sterling sliver brooch by Karen Walker is definitely intriguing.
