So no matter what the outcome of my life will be... there has to (at some point) be a recreation of this photograph of The Flamin Groovies (1976). I mean... they knew they were cool, their fans knew they were cool, the whole effin' planet knew it! I mean, I doesn't really take a rocket scientist does it (lol)?

The EGo Has Landed!!

In the wake of my first post on Justin receiving such a coveted award..I have come to find that Kanye has graced the cover of Details magazine. Very nice indeed. This is what I call the #1 Most Stylish Man in America. Not saying, I'm calling KANYE #1, but the cover speaks for itself. And just check out his shenanigans lately.. Soooo FASHION FORWARD. And let's not forget this quote from the mag:

"Put this in the magazine: There’s nothing more to be said about music. I’m the fucking end-all, be-all of music. I know what I’m doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It’s on cruise control. . . . Man, we talked about music for God knows how long! Now let’s talk about how my fuck ing sweater didn’t come back right from Korea. That’s what’s interesting me.”

Boys Like Girls Who Dress Like Boys

I got the January 2009 Issue of Harper's Bazaar in the mail today... and what freaking' issue it is. We are all madly in love with flawless style icon Victoria Beckham, there's no doubt about that! But in this issue she speaks on living and maintaining an image (and not just a lifestyle). She also goes into saying "I don't complain about paparazzi because I've put myself in that position" which is what every icon should stand by.

Although, now that her hair is much shorter, the boyish looks are a BIT 

bothersome. But I can admire her iconoclastic efforts. VICKI FOR QUEEN!

I was up at this morning watching Jumpstart on VH1, and I saw this video by The Killers. I particularly couldn't keep my eyes off of the Blazer (you know which one I'm talkin about). I want it and I won't stop searching until i find out who makes it... and it push comes to shove, I'll just pluck my own ostrich.

Born a Star

One of my favorite clips from the film "Star" (with Julie Andrews) especially around 2:50 when she plays with the jumping bean boys. I'm still searching for the footage of the fashion show that takes place in the film.

Truly Outrageous

Okay,so I did find this footage of the Jem & The Holograms intro. I love they emphasized the "fashion and fame" part. Maybe i can find a soundtrack somewhere... or even better... a DVD set!

Style Holograms

Jem and the Holograms wasn't a show that I grew up watching, but when I got the chance to watch the episodes that aired in the early 80's, I WAS ADDICTED! and the reason for this unruly obsession, it wasn't a regular cartoon where every character wore the same outfit every episode (for seasons on end)... THAT'S RIGHT... the girl band changed not only changed outfits very episode, but sometimes multiple times in just one show. Shana, Kimber, Aja, and Jerrica (aka known as Jem) have gone down as style Icons in my book... they're truly (yes, truly truly) outrageous!

West gets Worse

Kanye West has always been an [style] icon of mine since he set foot on the scene. I supported the scruffy-duff look for a brief moment... (Of course for the sake of something fresh...) but at this point.. Sir Kanye West is looking more and more like my father each day. Maybe its not something for me to comprehend... but I'm not sure I'm follow his image this time around. Is it 70's meet 80's? Man at sea, but really-supposed-to-be-in-calculus 101? I just DON'T get it!

Rebel Find: An Dukes

In todays world, you come across hidden gems that people don't seem to recognize as it stares them directly in the face. Whether its a secluded spot in the park, a spa or even a restaurant, in this case.... I happened to stumble upon a young style icon in the making who goes by the name An Dukes. Living in Beltsville, Maryland, An draws inspiration from Common, Kanye West, Keisha Cole, & Trey Songz. "Fashion is the only thing i've got", she says... "there is no greater joy to me than IT and everything revolving around it."


Although just a senior in high school she knows that fashion and style is imprinted in her future, "I'm just going to take whatever's thrown at me and roll with it, whether my face is one that's known for being the best at what i do or not."

At such a young age, Dukes loves to make random stops at Vintage Shops and Thrift Stores (with the acception of special pieces from Urban Outfitters and H&M) , because of course only the iconic know that theres nothing better than a vintage piece..... theres just an essence about it that never leaves the seams. I will say I'll have my eyes on this one.
