I See You

Last Summer we were introduced to a fresher variation of the scarf and we've been stuck ever since. This season Azumi & David are providing us yet another accessory that is bleeding with innovation. It channels the same scarf we were wearing last season... but it just.. a little hotter.

I'm Lost!

Call me crazy if you'd like, but since I've been on a mad rampage to promote collectable items such a these Spring Harem shorts... there's just no stopping an iconoclastic imagination. I wish I could tell you who these are by, however, the website wasn't in english... so here.

I've Got New Friends

I was browsing around on Etsy this morning and realized that I've found something that may just suit me. Flower brooches! Although I've already pulled one from Mike Phil's closet.... I can now begin to start collecting my own.

I'm the Mother, You're the Child

Usually you'll notice designers who attempt to produce an african inspired collection and it'll be interpreted literally and then you'll be stuck with a Kenyan wedding gown in your closet. However with Suno, it wasn't the case at all. After reviewing his Spring Summer 2009 Collection, I saw nothing but versatility with the inspiration of African kangas behind it all. What I adored most about these pieces is that you can mix it up with whatever you already have in your wardrobe and not get lost in the garment. You can be classic by pairing a crisp white woven (a.k.a "a button up blouse") with one of the printed skirts or you can just be as trendy as you wanna be by throwing on a graphic tee and a leather biker jacket! The possibilities are endless, and my respects are definitely paid since it's quite difficult to work with African prints.

This Isn't My Home

Maybe I've never discussed my burning love that I have for asians... but it's definitely something I haven't been able to overcome. Model Kiki Kang makes me wanna drop everything and do "bad" things to myself. Sad but a standing fact.

Veranda Blues

I don't discriminate against any form of footwear (accept flip flops, lol) since they are all just an extension of one's expression. Needless to say, when I came across these sandal-lace ups by Rachel Comey I had no issues paying my respects. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I saw someone rocking these in real life...in real time, but throw 'em in an editorial and I'm all for it! I conclude that no matter what the cause may be...they're freshly kept

[Rebel Update] An Dukes

You might remember a couple months back, we covered our young icon in the making, An Dukes, who covers grounds with her entourage The Fakes. This is our update, as we adore An as well as all her endeavors to become the next Style Icon.

Rebel Find: An Dukes

In todays world, you come across hidden gems that people don't seem to recognize as it stares them directly in the face. Whether its a secluded spot in the park, a spa or even a restaurant, in this case.... I happened to stumble upon a young style icon in the making who goes by the name An Dukes. Living in Beltsville, Maryland, An draws inspiration from Common, Kanye West, Keisha Cole, & Trey Songz. "Fashion is the only thing i've got", she says... "there is no greater joy to me than IT and everything revolving around it."

Although just a senior in high school she knows that fashion and style is imprinted in her future, "I'm just going to take whatever's thrown at me and roll with it, whether my face is one that's known for being the best at what i do or not."

At such a young age, Dukes loves to make random stops at Vintage Shops and Thrift Stores (with the acception of special pieces from Urban Outfitters and H&M) , because of course only the iconic know that theres nothing better than a vintage piece..... theres just an essence about it that never leaves the seams. I will say I'll have my eyes on this one.
