For some very odd reason, the working woman has always been  on of my direct inspirations. Mainly because there's persistence, success, and life amongst her. Apparently Devi Kroell's Fall 2009 collection has not forgotten the woman who clocks in from  9am-5pm. Everyone wants to be on point when their on the job, true? I see great quality and depth with this collection. I'm not crazy about it... but expecting much more for Spring 2010

On the Sunshine

A true lady should never be left without an ample supply of accessories, especially when it comes down to hats. Jeffrey Portman has proved himself to be the king of Millinery design that won't have you styled like a natural disaster. Portman's Camp has made it clear that Jeffrey "combines his passion for traditional millinery skills with a unique sense of directional fashion, to produce captivating collections that are immaculately executed and strikingly contemporary". We had the pleasure of briefly speaking with the noted designer and low and behold... the mind behind the vision. 

RW: Why Millinery? 

JP:  It's not easy to pin point an exact reason, but have always liked the modification aspect of headwear; being able to amend and transform, also hat as object, hat as idea..I love the high quality workmanship and skills involved... and especially the eureka moment when an idea appears.

RW: Are there any designers (millinery or clothing) that Inspire you?

JP: I am a huge fan of Maison Martin Margiela whose philosophy I really enjoy; influenced also by makeshift way's of dressing which I see in my neibourhood - Dalston and turning these into high fashion...I'm currently working on a commission for actress Audrey Tatou, whom I've alway's felt has a great, chic and soft french style, so she is an influence becoming the finale of the process.

RW:When you're not designing, what would one find you doing? 

JP: The usual stuff..art, creative events, books and hanging out with friends, oh, and love too...of course.. 

We've yet to see what Jeffrey has worked up for Fall 2009, but we're totally excited and at the edge of our plush seating (lol) Could he possibly be added to our list of [Love Interests] ? Stay Tuned

O So Fierce!!

Beyonce was recently photographed in Tribeca, NY on 3/8 filming a promotional video for her upcoming

"I Am Sasha Fierce" tour. In the pic she is sporting a Thierry Mugler creation. For those  of you scratching your heads, Mugler is an excellent designer who will be creatingmore than 60 designs for Beyonce's hot new venue, along with Gareth Pugh. Although Beyonce's wears this outfit well, I must say, it's a little unflattering around the hip area.But, BOY, I can't wait to see what else Thierry, brings to the table.

So after being named "GQ's Most Stylish Man"...It seems that Justin Timberlake has started taking his style game a little more seriously...Or at least I think he did.To be honest, he still looks the same, all he did was throw on a bowler, blazer, and a scarf. But one must admit, it does make the "jeans, and sweater" look something nice doesn't it?

[Love Interest] Julian Louie

Hey Lifestylers, in case you haven't noticed yet, [Love Interest] is a segement that we do that includes young and new designers. Although we love our higher end labels (out there), we love to support the fresher talent, and Julian Louie is definitely the fresher face in the industry. Louie's Fall 2009 collection inspired by the spanish bullfighter caught more than just my eye, but my mind, as I'd never thought the profession could make such a chic and intresting transition. The slim and defining silhouettes are sure to be a winner amongst women across the nation. See more pictures here

The dude is dope! Theres absolutely, without a doubt that John Mayer (despite who he may be dating at the moment), is the music man in my dreams. He plays everything that I believe in, and of course, I don't have to mention a thing about his voice. Ever heard of this new thing called "Bromance"? Ive never really gotten into the concept, much less experienced it... but this would have to be it. (lol)

James Clar has owned nothing short of a gift when it comes to modern architechtural lighting and design. After checking his website... I literally... wanted to jump through the screen and live in some fo these places he's created (weird, I know. But hey, it's cyberspace). According to the folks at Clar's Camp, James is currently working diligently in his studio stationed in Dubai on new project. EXCITING! With all that being said, this dude is definitely someone I'm looking forward to supporting.

Get Naked!

Watching Cycle 12 of America's Next Top Model last night, I noticed that I can really live without all the drama that comes with these reality tv shows. ESPECIALLY since Tyra has now proclaimed herself to be the
"Goddess of Fierce" (wtf?!). After 11 cycles of following her "judgement", Its taken the 12th one for me to notice that she's a control freak since she kept ordering the girls to remove their accessories and/or articles of clothing. I'm not do sure I see the point her asking them to do that during panels.

With all that being said. I don't remember much any of the girls name just yet, But Sandra must get kicked off soon. After bombing her runway challenge, and murdering her photo shoot (in a literal sense), she still lives too proudly in her own world. (Safe to say, I'm over it).

Rock the Cow

I've been on a perpetual search for the perfect leather Jacket. One that's timeless, well in fit, and real leather (duh!). Designer, Michel Berandi offers us these two incredibly made jackets that include some hand crafted qualities to it and we definitely encourage special items. Although the collar on the black jacket has a smidge of Elvira to it, I appreciate its drama nonetheless. Don't You?
