The average american hears the word "quilt"  and associates it with an old lady with no life (normally quilting the rest of her life away). The average American also hears the word "rap" or "hip-hop" and associates that with an african american young dude that might have no other hopes nor dreams than to be a RAP STAR! But never would the "average American" put the two together to associate art. These quilts made by Anne Brenneke clearly makes more than a statement.
